Recommended Doctors & Dentists from Golfview Residents

Rozann Dorn  - The name of our new dentist is Dr. David Boers.  I returned for a second
visit last week and was just as impressed as I was the first time I went.
As he filled a tooth, he was very good about explaining everything he was
doing and was very gentle.  His staff was amazing.  Not only are they
efficient and knowledgeable but they have a great sense of humor.

Dr. Boers' office is located in a professional building right on Route 50.
The address is 10125 W. Colonial Drive, Suite 101, Ocoee.  Telephone number
is 407.293.9341.

Whether you go the turnpike or take Route 27 south to Route 50 East
(Turnpike is faster!!!!), you will go past a big Walmart and Health Central
Hospital....very unique looking hospital, contemporary with red and yellow
architecture.  The professional building is on the OPPOSITE side (north) of
the W. Colonial Drive, JUST PAST the hospital.  If you get to Clarke Avenue
where Michaels, Petsmart, Borders, Toys R Us are located, you have gone too
far.

I'm drawing a blank as to the name of the professional building complex at
the moment but it is very easy to find and the buildings (two of them) are
well-marked. Dr. Boers office is in the professional building located in the
back.  I believe it's identified as professional office building "B".  Once
inside building "B",  Dr. Boers' office is the first office on the left.

Good luck!  Let me know what you think of Dr. Boers and his staff....if you
should decide to try him.

DJ, my Dr. has been recommended to me by my GYN Doctor and the pharmacist and a hematologist. His name is Gregory Brown, he is very thorough but one problem. If you call him, he does not call you back, his nurse does and she is very evasive.  Sandi Q.

Art & I go to the Main Street Dentists and like them very much. GYN Dr. Moffett. As to a reg Dr. the jury is still out. I like Dr Robinson but hate the office and service there. Art likes Dr. Lichtinger but hours are still not perfect. We were so used to calling our Dr.'s office and being told to come right over and they would fit us in or the nurse would say to come by for a Rx or a shot without an appointment. The Rubin's Recommendation: Dentist: Dr. Mark Steele 607 West Dixie Highway Leesburg, (next door to the Sleep Clinic) and near LRMC Phone: 787-3789 Secretary: Mona We feel that Dr. Steele is honest. We have been using him for 2 1/2 years. We are very happy with the quality of his work. Mona is a superior secretary and office manager. Many people at the Plantation use him.

We were unable to find a participating physician (one that would accept GHI as full payment with our co-pay in Leesburg). G.H.I. (Group Health Insurance, Inc.) is a New York City Plan.) Our Internist, Dermatologist , Gyn, Gasteroenterologist and Radiologists (for x-rays) are in Clermont. Perhaps, as more baby boomers arrive to Central Florida, circumstances may change.

Recommended by Jack and Geri Higgins - We use Dr David Lichtinger. Office is on Hwy 25 just before Lake Harris; look for the sign with the heart. He was recommended and takes our insurance. We are happy with him. He is a DO, which is an alternative path to an MD. I can't explain the difference and apparently it doesn't make a difference to the insurance companies. He just added a second Dr to his office, but I have CRS and can't remember his name.

I am quite pleased with the doctor and dentist I have been using for 2 years or so now.

Doctor Nelson Kraucak: his approach to treatment is what I call 'integrated.' He uses the simplest treatments first. That is, vitamins, minerals and herbs first - if that is what you want. Of course he is equipped with latest medical tools also. Also does Chelation IV Therapy - of which I have had a number of treatments. Located in Lady Lake at the Life Family Practice Center -just past the Villages.

Dentist Kenneth Smith is at Highland Lakes Dental. Which is very close by at Highland Lakes. Just north on 27 for a mile or so.

HI Dorothy, Both Jerry (Berkman) and I go to The Main Street Dentists. We find them to be very good. Jerry's doctor is George Mathew, who specializes in heart problems, but also treats him for the regular things. He is OK. I go to his wife, who specializes in Cancer treatment, but also treats for the regular problems as well. She is OK, but I am looking to change. Sorry I couldn't be of more help

Dr. Toombs is an excellent dentist according to Harry Reynolds. Harry broke a front tooth and he put a crown on it and it looks better than new. He is also close -- Dixie Highway. Harry also recommends Dr Kerina who was his broken foot doctor

From the Walshes: Regarding doctors: shortly upon our arrival in the Plantation, Dick was bitten by a spider and needed medical help. His elbow swelled, so, not having a doctor, we headed to the emergency room at Leesburg Medical; his ailment was cured; we asked for a recommendation (they are not allowed to give one), but.... Dr.Dinesh Khanna was recommended to us by the triage nurse; have used him periodically and he is great (does speak English and can understand him!) As for dentist, we use Dr. Eddie Orobitg and he is fantastic; young couple (his wife is a hygienist in his office). Couldn't say more about him; the best!!!

 .Hi, Dorothy. Tom and I can enthusiastically recommend the dental office of Mark Steele, DDS, a graduate of Northwestern University. He is located at 607 W. Dixie Avenue, right next to the Sleep Disorder place on the right side of the road as you go toward the hospital. His charges seem fair and we like him and his staff.  Tom likes his family practitioner, Dr. A. K. Sharma, whose office is at 8136 Centralia Court, suite 101, which is near the ComCast Building .  We have also had use of the Gastro Enterology and Heart Specialists, but that is not something everybody needs. 'Tis a fine service you're providing.

Hi Dorothy - - - - these are a few of the doctors we have been to here in the Leesburg area - - internist - -Dr. Brown- -cardio - -Dr. Garcia - - gastro.--Dr. Khadra ---dentist Dr. Steele --- all have given us good care - -no complaints . Oh, I almost forgot for the ladies - -Dr.Unanue --GYN - - - my favorite. Some of you may not know that all doctors that come here from other countries have to do a residency and pass the same test given to American doctors before they can open a practice --- I know I used to worry about that myself but looked into it and that's what I was told. ROZANN HAS RETRACTED HER ENDORSEMENT FOR DR HANUBEL BELOW 

Just got back from Dr. Hanubel's office (Advanced Obstetrics and

Gynecology).  Very, very pleased.  Dr. Hanubel and his nurse made me feel at

ease immediately.  He has an accent but is understandable.  Very gentle.

Spent lots of time with me.  Nifty little chair for doing paps.  Didn't have

those in Ohio!    Office staff was organized and pleasant.  Will definitely

go back.  Please feel free to share my recommendation with those looking for

Rod and Mona Bennet are happy with these doctors: Jacquelyn Puglia MD (reeealy like her) and Steven Hawk MD (both take only medicare patients) and Jose Rosado MD FACC, of Florida Heart and Vascular Center. Their dentist is Leon Smith at Highland Lakes Dental.

Martin Pearl recommends David R. Brunetti, Urologist with Lake Urology  located in Leesburg, The Villages and Highland Lakes 352-787-4567. I found  the office to be  professionally run and Dr Brunetti seemed to be very  professional, thorough  and communicative, something that I found generally  lacking elsewhere so far.
